Hi Newbie here, this weekend i plan to build a box wall for a fuax fireplace.

Things I need to know:

The best project on this website for tips

How do i fix my timber to a concrete floor, its a new build house

Is it better to have my timber ready cut from the store

any ideas tips and general help will be most welcome

I wouldn't bother getting the timber precut unless you have to. Would be far better to do it as you go.

To fix the timber to concrete floor I would get frame fixings that are about 3 times the thickness of the wood you are fixing through. All you need to do is drill through the wood then switch to a masonry bit and drill into the floor. You then hammer the fixings through the wood and into the floor.
