Am I required to fire proof my garage?

Can anyone help??

I am looking at extending my current kitchen extension, by doing this, the extension will then become in contact with my garage. Because of this am I then required to fireproof my existing garage??

If your accessing your garage from your kitchen you will need a firedoor with a closer mechinism,Your local building inspector will check the wall and make recomendations to meet the usual specifications
