Backdraught noise!

Postby backdraught » Tue Sep 13, 2011 2:34 pm

Anyone here have a canny cowl that will stop back draughts into my bathroom extractors.

The fans are really very effective, super quiet and actually have a built-in anti-draught device which is adequate most of the time. But when the wind is up - I live by the sea, so this is is often enough - the antidraught device rattles really noisily.

The fans vent vertically through to a pitched slate roof and are capped with what looks like a traditional grey plastic dome.

Chimney cowls seem to have a range of solutions for draughts, but is anything available for 100mm vents?

Or what keywords I might use to discover a suitable product?

Many thanks!
