Bathroom Light Problem

by DM90 » Sat Jan 08, 2011 1:52 pm

Removed pull switch cover after bathroom light stopped working and noticed there is no supply of electricity through the live and neutral.

Checked the DB and all MCB's are on and all other lights in the house are working apart from the bathroom.

Any advice on how to fix this would be much appreciated.

Asumming you have the knowledge , and after doing safe
isolation proceedure , with an approved voltage testing device
and proving unit ( to verfy voltage testing device is in working
order ) , you have noticed no supply of electricity
through the live and neutral . If you are certain that you have a neutral at the pullcord , which is not common , you have a fault on the cable . There is a possability you dont have a neutral at the pullcord and two lives , one permanent , one switch live , and live could be present and pullcord could have failed .
Project section on this site shows live and switch live diagrams.
With two possabilities and only one being the live and neutral , that you have observed , you would need an electrician with the the right test equipment to help you with this
