Bedroom light fitting - quick question

    Postby trickyneath » Sat Jul 16, 2011 1:29 pm

Just taken an old light fitting down and I have, 1 red, 1 green/yellow, 2 black.

    Usually I'd connect

    red - brown
    black - blue
    earth - earth

Now I'm guessing one of the blacks is switched live? How do I tell which black to connect to blue? Then where should the other one go?

    Thanks!
    Rich

    RICH
BEFORE any further exploration with the mains supply TURNED OFF.
You would need to properly verify with test equipment , your switch wires , by doing continutiy tests , then you would verify the function of each coloured conductor. if you are unable to do this you need to get expert help in to assist you
