best way to prepare old pine doors

Post by IGGt » Sat Jul 13, 2013 2:55 pm

Hi, I have some old (apx 6 years) pine doors. They are generally in good condition, but have never been varnished / protected in any way. The time has come to do something with them. I have purchased some coloured wax to put on them, but am thinking they will probably need to be prepared in some way first (to get rid of 6 years dirt and grease etc).
what would be the best way to go about preparing them?

First of all clean all the doors with white spirit on a cloth to remove any grime. Give them a light rub down to hard and you are going to scratch them. Dust them all off and apply your wax to the doors see what they look like and if they require another wax
