Boiler flue passing through flat roof

Hi, im having a problem with how to correctly seal around a boiler flue where it passes through a flat roof. i have got a flashing for this but i don't know how to seal this to the surface of the roof. Should i use flash band around the edges? Thanks in advance for any replys.
