Boiler Problem - Halstead Ace High?

Post by shaun1970 » Sun Mar 08, 2009 7:27 am

Please advise me, my boiler both heating & water seems to have a mind of its own,, it chooses to come on when it feels like it.
To make it come on i have to switch mains off and on and then and i mean sometimes it lights up and works.
The pressure is fine and remains as 1 bar.
When its working both pump and fan is humming away loverly, then for no reason a few hours later it just stops. Sometimes i can switch off and on and get it back on but most of the time it just needs a day or so to want to have another play

Additional Details
In addition - when i manage to get it to have a go it dosnt always go all the way, eg pump goes for say 20 seconds and stops and the fan dosnt come on at all.

Any idea's

Hi Shaun,

Could be many things, PCB is where I would start - so get a good RGI

I would start by checking sensors, they could be keeping the boiler off, then as steve says - possibly PCB fault.
