Bosch WFF2001 washing machine

Having delivered splendid service for years, the machine occasionally sticks at the point where it should start pumping water out after a wash or rinse stage. It sticks with a buzzing noise (sticky relay?) and sometimes responds to a thump on the front of the machine with the heel of a hand. This cure is becoming less successful by the day.

To shorten the search, can anyone suggest the guilty component and its location please?
