Hi - can anyone help? We had to turn our mains water supply off over night and this morning our central heating is working but we have issues with the hot water. When you turn on the hot tap the water is luke warm, then gets really hot for 15-20 seconds then runs cold. Has anyone got any thoughts about what could be wrong?

Have you opened the stop tap all the way ? you should have good water pressure at the cold tap, and if you have then you should have good water pressure at the hot tap also, if poor pressure and flow rate at the hot tap then you might have some debris blocking the cold inlet to the boiler so only getting reduced flow through - what work did you have done that required you to turn off the cold ? that might point you in the right direction
