Ceiling fell down

by seadart » Thu Jul 12, 2007 4:27 pm

I came hom from work to find my hall ceiling was now on the floor!
It's an old lath and plaster ceiling the laths are rotten through old water damage.

Of course the insurance company were as much use as a chocolate fire guard.

I have a picture but cannot seem to upload it onto the forum.

How do I go about repairing it?

Thanks for any advice

A picture would be good, but if the wooden laths are rotten you need to remove these and then screw plaster board into the joists, board the whole ceiling and skim.
