changing locks

by n memarzia » Tue Jun 12, 2007 9:41 pm

Can anyone please advise on changing the lock on a double-glazed french door that is locked with no keys! I have access to both sides and can remove the cover and the handles.
Many thanks

You need a locksmith to get the lock out

Thank you. I was rather hoping to do it myself. If there is a reason why I can't ( ie spacial equipment, master key...) I would be grateful if you could expalin it.

There are hundreds of different locks and even more ways of opening and removing them. To get a guess from a forum would, or certainly may, lead to irrepairable damage and a £90.00 bill from a locksmith turns into a £300.00 bill for a new door. With no keys the lock will need to be drilled out to open and its only when its open it can be removed.
