cleaning off old tiles,

[color=violet][/color][color=cyan][/color][i]hi, i have some old ceramic tiles from my friend, i need to remove the old ones to put these up, i have cleaned all the grouting from around them but they have lumps of really hard adheasive on the backs, what and how is the best way to get this off, the grout was easy as i layed them down and with a screwdriver and hammer i cleaned that off, but you cant do that to clean off the backs of them please help, thanks :wink: [/i]

Soak in hot water then scrape. May need to do it a couple of times.

a hot air gun, the type used for stripping paint, works as well. take care though.
