I'm thinking of buying some commercial space with a friend in East London and converting it onto 2 or hopefully 3 flats. We have a budget of about 700K including a good 230K cash and the rest mortgage based. Hoping to pay 500-600K for the property, giving us more money for the conversion. We're both quite handy at diy but would get builders in for the large works.
We would keep 1 flat each to live in and rent the 3rd out.
