Concrete small area over wood where wall was

We removed a stud wall and at the floor there the concrete does not go across where the wall was.
There is a wooden piece and I'm after laminating over the lot eventually.
I'm concerned with expansion if we do concrete over the wood.
Perhaps levelling compound might be better.
