hi ft , more likely to be the rcd than whole consumer unit , but sounds more like earth leakage problem , will have to investigate by ellimination as to where the fault lies , . An electrician will be able to do ramp test and rcb test to to eleiminate rcd . Cheers jeff

hi ft again just as a matter of interest is it raining when it trips. ? 2 have you any outside lights . Reason being if you get moisture in lights or sockets ,this would or could cause an earth leakage which will cause rcd to trip .Interesting keep in touch Jeff

Hi, unlikely, when did this start? what type of unit is it, ie RCD main sw. or split load ?
If latter, are neutrals on right half of board, ie same 1/2 as Lives?
Unfortunately fault could be cumelative, ie more than 1 faulty circuit / appliance so unless all circuits disconnected at same time difficult to find without insulation tester 'megger'
