curtain rail pulled out wall with chunk of plasterboard

Post by Squirrel346 » Mon Oct 10, 2011 12:08 pm

Any ideas appreciated, one of my relatives tripped, grabbing the curtain as he fell. Only the curtain rail central support fell out the wall pulling a chunk of plasterboard with it (we had those umbrella/self fixing plugs which weren't gonna budge). So now I have two problems, I need to fix my curtains back up and fix the hole - with something strong enough to support a heavy curtain. Every idea i've been given so far is just to fix the wall with a 'quick fix' nothing substantial enough to support the curtain, or how to fix it.
Some one must have the right answer.

fill the hole with dry wall adhesive and let it set, then drill and fix with a standard plug and screw.
