decking on concrete

i'm looking to lay decking on a concrete base (so it looks nicer, according to the missus) Is this OK.
The base is flatish, although obviously not perfect (ie, 1 length of wood along the width or length would not lie flat)
Is this advisable; what do i need to look for/do ?
