Downlighter Daisy-chaining

by Heeber » Fri Feb 22, 2008 12:39 am

(this is a follow on from another post, but wanted to keep the questions separate)

Think I've gathered from other posts that the installation technique is to daisy-chain the downlights, but there seems to be some debate about whether junction boxes are required.

I'm reasonably confident with electrics, but was a bit confused when looking at the variety of junction boxes there are!

So, question is :

a) can I simply daisy-chain without using the junction boxes?

b) If I need to use junction boxes, could someone spell it out in a little more detail for the hard of thinking

many thanks
Heeb

Hi Heeber,

a) Yes you can link across the lights without using a JB.
b) have a look on THE DOCS DIY PROJECTS I think under? electrically wiring a junction box diagrams and method explained there.
Remember part p and be safe, safely isolate any circuit you are working on.
Good Luck
