Downstairs Toilet Light Trips When Light Switched off

by Plucky » Fri Feb 16, 2018 8:44 am

Morning All,

I have a downstairs toilet with a single light, I have replaced the rose and switch. When i turn the light off it trips the fuse board. Please see diagram below. The Ceiling rose has 3 of each wire chaining to the rest downstairs i believe.

First time poster!

Thanks in advance

You have wired the switch across live and neutral, so when you turn the switch off it puts a dead short across L & N so the MCB does its job.
