Electrics in skirting board?

by ChrisMorgan » Thu May 13, 2010 2:24 pm

Hi,

I am in the process of renovating a house during which the property will be rewired.

I have heard of a skirting board, where you can place the cables ... possibly even cables for Internet, AV, etc.

Does anyone have experience with such a product?

Regards,
Chris

I have used it. One have to be very careful cutting especially if any corners not quite right angles. And expensive. There are two basic types. One with wires and one with buss bars never worked with latter. There is also a few forms some designed as skirting other designed for mounting higher.

City Electrical Factors do their own version.

I think once priced you will change your mind. Really for offices where layout is often changed not designed for domestic.
