fence paint

a couple of years ago we painted our garden fence with cedar fence paint which looked ok until my wife decided she didnt like it! so we covered it with green paint which also looked ok, the problem being it is now wearing of and nothing seems to cover it with out the old colours coming through! has anyone got any suggestions of how to cover it so the finish is constant and even

See if you can get back to a consistent background colour by using a pressure washer.
