Not really the right kind of forum to ask this....
I am looking to starting my own pond which I want to make it out of 3x2 framework with 6 fence posts in each corner and 2 on either side, it will be half below ground and half above ground, my concern is that because I’m not doing a concrete base that I will rotten wood within 5 years as the wood will be coming into contact with the ground, I was thinking of covering it with creosote or bitumen to make it last a bit longer but not sure if it will be worthwhile, like I say it may be the wrong forum and I understand if I get slated but I’m open to any suggestions.
