Fitting Additional Loft Light to an Existing Setup

by v_forty » Thu Oct 01, 2015 10:18 pm

I currently have a professionally wired in mains light in my loft, with a switch by the hatch. The bulb is more or less in the middle, and I'd like to have 2 - to give a better spread of light towards each end of the loft.

Can I buy a junction box, fit this where the current lamp pendant is (connecting brown to brown etc) then a length of cable out to two pendants further along the beams? I don't want each lamp on a different switch, and the current one is at the end of a circuit.

Or is there a better way of doing this?

Many thanks
