    Fitting driveway Gates

    I have got a pair of large hardwood driveway gates and want to know if I can fit them to 8" oak posts or do they need to be fixed to RSJ's

    I guess it depends on the weight of the gated but I don't see an 8" oak post bending easily so long as its secured in the ground properly'.
