I have a flueless fire, fitted by Qualified Gas Fitter.I have a wooden fire surround and want to Know if there is something I can use to stop the varnish from blistering. The fire is not in constant use and only used to take the chill off the room on a very low setting. :P

Heat resistant paint should be used - if it's blistering then it's a fire hazard. Check instructions for the fire it'll give minimum distances.
