French Doors with daylight showing when they are closed?

Post by Ashers » Tue Dec 27, 2016 10:44 am

Morning,

I've moved to a new house and have a north facing garden with French Doors.

The other day I was in the kitchen and could feel a breeze coming from the Doors and on closer inspection noticed that the Doors didn't close properly.

Where the Doors meet in the middle there is daylight showing vertically at the bottom of the right hand door. See photo.

Is this quick fix?

The doors need adjusting, its an easy fix. Ask your local upvc installers to do it

Is this not something I can adjust myself?

yes you can adjust the lock receiver, if you lift the handle when the door is open, you should see hooks appear.
These hooks fit into receivers that you can adjust with allan keys or screwdrivers, also adjust the lock receiver so that the door shuts tighter before lifting the handle
