Just fitted new igniter but just constantly sparking trying to light pilot, which is already lit but then will not fire the main gas jets. Any help much appreciated.

Either HT lead, flame sensing electrode or Ignition PCB at fault. Also check the pilot flame is touching the electrode.

Check the lead for breaks, especially where it passess through into the combustion chamber, as it is metal it could be shorting out on the case.

When you say you've renewed ignitier I take it you mean lead and electrode ? if so then it's probably the PCB.
