hanging a flatscreen tv
i`m looking for some tips for hanging a flat screen lcd tv on a timber frame stud wall. my concern`s are for the weight of the tv and bracket and am also looking for ideas on installing the tv with all the wires out of sight.
Find the studs ( upright timbers) to fix any TV brackets to. If they are not in the right place then fix a timber (say 150mm x 25mm) across two of the studs and fix the tv to this timber. The edges of the timber can be sanded down at an angle and the timber can be painted to match the wall. It should not be seen much behind the telly and you know the fixing is safe. Finding the studs is easy using the tool at the link below.

Fixing a tv to the wall.
Hi,
If you do not want to see the timber support then cut back the plaster board and half lap the timber into cut outs in the studs. Then cut and fit a new piece of plasterboard into the slot and re-plaster Arnak
