Help needed in using tile trim when tiling a corner shelf

    Postby Paul » Tue Mar 13, 2007 10:53 pm

Can anyone help with use of tile trim around the external corner of a shelf where the two horizontal edges meet the vertical corner.
I am considering a mitred corner with tile trim on the horzontal edges, but need to know how to deal with the vertical quadrant section on the corner which meets the sharp 90 degree mitred horizontal corner. I assume the horizontal plastic trim (mitred) is not easy to shape without spoiling the finish.
Also can the vertical trim be Vee'd or mitred into the horizontal trims.
As the tile edges are not well glazed and not out of site if lapped, is it possible to put a 45 degree mitre along the inner edge of the vertical corner tiles leaving a small gap for grouting.
Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

you could buy a corner trim piece that will sit where you're mitred trim would be then you're trim would run in to on all sides with a straight cut tile suppliers sell these and should be available same size and colour as you're tile trim
