Help! Water still flowing through system when heating is off

by Ewaker » Mon Oct 25, 2010 1:43 pm

Hi I had a new boiler two years ago its a Baxi solo condensing boiler. For a few days I have noticed water still flowing through the radiators and pipes but the heating is turned off. I have turned the water off at the mains and it still flows through. However, if I turn the heating system off at the mains the water stops? Is this a boiler problem or could it be the pump? I have cover for the boiler but not pumps. Help would be appreciated as worried it could be something serious. Thanks

Sounds like the boiler run-on thermostat is faulty. This thermostat is designed to run the pump to disapate the heat in the boiler after the boiler is switched off.
