Help with Washing Machine Waste Pipe and Removing Glued Cap

Post by DonnaD » Wed Feb 17, 2016 3:57 pm

I want to plumb the washing machine into existing pipes in the garage but before we moved in the previous owners capped off and secured with glue where the 40mm waste pipe goes into the stench pipe.

How is it best to remove the pipe cap? Is it possible to heat the glue and somehow twist it to remove or would I have to saw it off and glue the new pipe into place.

I will be attempting this myself.

Hopefully there'll be a photo attached to this post to show where I mean.

Thanks.

unscrew the cap and get a one inch and a half female iron (plastic) to 40mm plastic connector, wrap ptfe around the male thread and tighten
