Hot indirect cylinder vent

Post by hamish72 » Sat Oct 24, 2009 1:03 pm

Is it really necessary for the vent pipe from the cylinder top to supply tank in attic to be completely vertical ?

I would like to route it about 8 inchs horizontally to the rear of the cupboard to provide clear space on shelves they do after all turn through 180 degrees to enter the cold tank

No it does not need to be always vertical. It just needs to offer an escape route for air or boiling water.
