Hot water control

by maryvale » Wed Jul 30, 2008 5:19 pm

When I switch my hot water off at the programmer, the pump sometimes keeps running, and I have to push the "reset" button at the boiler control panel to stop the pump. How do I tell whether the fault is with the motorised valve or the programmer ? Thanks.

If the pump keeps running when the programmer is turned off it is most probably the microswitch in the pump is still closed.
The next time it happens, check to see the position of the valve when the programmer is off - this should be possible by looking at the auto/manual lever on the side of the valve.
If the programmer is off and the valve is closed then the m/switch is stuck closed.
