How do I Know Where Original Outside Ground Level is to Solve Damp Problems

Post by eden » Sun Nov 15, 2015 1:24 pm

Trying to sort out damp problems and restore outside ground level of victorian terrace house to original level. The wall affected had a raised paved area about 6ins high outside which I have now removed, under this are 2 different concrete paths with an area of soil and rubble in-between them. How do I know how far down to go to get to original? Neighbours is raised area so can't judge from theirs. Base of inside is concrete with an air brick. This section at back of house was added on in 1970s I believe originally as a bathroom.

Finished ground level should be 2 bricks down from inside floor level
