How do I light the pilot light in a Baxi Solo 2 70 pf?

Post by katieMcG » Fri Nov 21, 2008 5:15 pm

My dad has just replaced the valve which switches from hot water to central heating. He checked the system was working when he had finished and apart from one radiator it was fine. The system was left on but by the time I got home an hour later the boiler was out. 2 questions:-
Any ideas what might have caused it?
How do I light the boiler again I can't see a normal ignition switch?
Any help would be gratefully received as my poor dad has worked all day on this and I could do with solving this one myself.

Thanks

Katie

Hi Katie,

That boiler self ignites, so no manual igniter.
Is the boiler quiet? does the fan spin?

Thanks for replying steve, it wasn't working at all and when we took the cover off we realised that it is really poorly (and 10 years old) so we need a new one. Having problems getting people to come and quote. Have got one person to quote over the phone who said £1650 but I'm not sure how good/bad this is as a price!
