How many hinges?

Post by kaner.dr » Mon Apr 23, 2007 9:12 pm

I am fitting a trifold door with 3 sections, each weighing 10-12kg and each about 30cm wide (and 2m tall). They are going to be fixed to each other and the wall with 40mm brass butt hinges (each section is 23mm thick

I cannot find a guide as to how many hinges I will need to use given that the first set (wall to panel 1) will be carrying the equivalent of a 30Kg door which is 90cm wide etc.

I was planning to go USE 4, 3, 3 but is there a way I should calculate it?

Thanks

David
