what kind of leather is your sofa? is it finished or unfinished?
finished leather has plastic coat and water resistant while unfinished leather can absorbs water and soft.

if the sofa is finished leather, you can try nail polish remover. apply it to cotton ball/swab and gently rub the cotton with nail polish remover on the paint.
