joining plastic to copper

by cerbsurf » Wed Aug 15, 2007 9:21 am

Hi, I have recently been joining plastic pipe to copper pipe using metal fittings. It seems though that after I push an insert into the plastic pipe it's almost impossible to get the copper olive over the end of the pipe without a lot of force. Anyone else had this issue or am I doing it all wrong? Perhaps there is a special tool I should be using?

Thanks!

Try sliding nut and olive onto plastic before inserting insert
