Joist to Block Wall in Hay Loft

Post by neild5 » Mon Oct 30, 2017 8:40 pm

Hi

I want to run joists from the left hand wall to the right hand wall, to put a floor on to use as a storage area.

The plan was to use the existing beam (LHS) - which runs alongside the existing flint wall - with joist hangers at 90 degrees carrying the joist and connecting to a hanger in the block wall (RHS.)

Problem is - the top of the wall on the right is a block wall (circa 60/70s). How do i put a hanger in this ? What would you guys recommend and do you agree with my approach for the LHS?

pictures attached.

All best
