Lack of hot water for bath.

by NewbiePlumba » Sun Mar 09, 2008 3:43 pm

hi all,
I have a problem when running a bath as the hot will always run cold long before the bath is filled half full. Can any1 give me some possible explanations for this please?

Also the hot water for the basin (bathroom) will always run water which is clouded through with dirty, misty water while all the other draw off points are clear.

Any comments will be much appreciated!!

Has any work been done on the system recently? I had the cold water storage tank for topping up my hot water system raised recently. After that I was suffering from lack of hot water in a similar way to you. This turned out to be because the vent line from the hot water system had been immersed below the surface of water in the tank, in fact almost to the bottom. This caused a syphon to be set up when we turned on the hot taps, mixing cold water in.

Hey, thanks for your replies.
The system installed in my house is an indirect unvented sealed system.
Also the only time we have had work done is the annual boiler service.
