Lagging 8mm Pipes to Save Excaping Heat

by Jocky B » Tue Oct 18, 2016 2:08 pm

Can't find this on existing topics, if I have missed it please be kind!

I have bare 8mm central heating piping running under ground floor, some pinned to outside walls! I have a suspicion I am losing a LOT of heat into non-productive space. Not worried about upstairs, I assume that the heat is finding it's way back to me up there.
Anyhoo, 8mm lagging doesn't seem to be available at any of the 'usual suspects' outlets..... can I just use the 15mm grey stuff, tape the joints so that it doesn't creep apart and get cold spots and stuff the open ends with offcut? What horrible, horrible things will happen?
Cheers!
