Light circuit problem

by stuartb » Fri Mar 21, 2008 12:12 pm

Hi
I have a problem when fixing a new light fitting
at the cieling there are 2 grey wires each with a live, neutral and earth
there is also a white cable with 2 live and an earth My problem is that when i have joined all the colours together and fitted the new light ALL the lights on the same circuit dont work. Can anybody help in advising me of the proper wiring

With two grays like to like and with white one red only to other Line conductors and the remaining red to local lamp neutrals together and earths together. Neutrals are considered as Live the L on a Plug top stands for Line. Using colours on one cable and Line, neutral earth on other cable does cause confusion but if you look on projects it is all explained there as well.
