Mould behind skirting board

Post by welshgirl » Sat Oct 15, 2011 9:26 pm

Just replaced our flooring and skirting boards and found in one corner of the dining room a small bit of mould. It was on the cement about 5 inches up from the floor where the shirting board was.
I sprayed it with mould remover and it has not grown back. But for piece of mind before attaching the new skirting board to the wall is there anything I could put between the cement and the wood to discourage the growth mould reforming again. Did have an issue with condensation in this corner so I think this may have caused the original issue and we only noticed it when we took off the old skirting boards. Or would there be another reason that could have caused it?
