Please can anyone help.
We are in the middle of buying a house, it's been empty for a number of years and although there's gas been in the house it's been declared dead and we need to get a new connection through northern gas networks. The question is they can only put the gas box 2 metres from the road, however, the original gas meter was found the back of the house which fed the hob, boiler any gas fire. If the new connection is in a different place which is quite a distance from the original box how do you feed the old appliances. Is it a matter of running a pipe from the new box round the back of the house and connect to the existing pipes? Also who would be responsible for this - northern gas networks or the new gas supplier?
