New plasterboard wall in bathroom

Post by charliuk » Wed Mar 28, 2007 12:52 pm

Hi there,

I have had a wall built using plasterboard against the side of the bath so that I could put a showerhead up.

Do I need to plaster it first before I start tiling it? Or can I just tile on the plasterboard straightaway?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Why are you tiling? I would have use shower board and been done by now.

Any way yes you can tile straight on to plasterboard, has long has you are using water proof adhesive.

If you buy the PINK high density plasterboard you can tile straight on top of it !

Hi,

Thanks for your help. A friend of the family put the wall up for me and I wasn't aware that there was such a thing as a showerboard.

Thank you again!
