outdoor lights

by Bowlesey » Sat May 05, 2007 9:31 am

I am fitting a 500w outdoor security light to an existing outdoor light circuit ( switch is indoors ) which is currently operating a simple 60w bulkhead type fitting outside.
The house is new so presumably all electrics are to current regs etc.

my questions are:
am i ok using 1.00mm twin and earth cabling, as 2 lights will run together?
what is best way of connecting new light wiring into the circuit? e.g is 16 amp connecting block ok?

cheers[/b]

1.00 mm will be OK for your Part P registered electrician to loop into second light, using 5A connectors inside original light, so long as well away from heat of lamp!
