painting

im painting my ceiling which is on raw plasterboard but the paint is not taking to the boards what can the problem be ,the first coat just peeled off when putting second coat on.

Did you thin the 1st coat? is the room damp? 2 probable cases if neither i am all out ideas :o

I know you say it is raw plasterboard, but is it just boards or has it got a coat of plaster on it. Very strange for it not to be plastered unless it's been artexed as you would have difficulty in hiding the joins in the boards.
