    permanent radiator removal

    Postby cammy4366 » Mon Mar 19, 2007 10:00 pm

I wish to remove a radiator permanently can i just cap the two pipes under the floor boards? if so will this effect the other radiators linked to it? or should i connect the two pipes together as to not effect the flow. HELP!? :?:

The two pipes should be short spurs from two other pipes which pass the radiator so that when the radiator valves are turned off the water still flows past to the next radiator.
If this is the case then you could just cap the two pipes.
Rarely,on some much older systems a single pipe was used which allowed a flow in one end of a rad and out of the other continuing to the next rad in this case you would need to link the two ends to complete the system but i doubt you would have this but you must check just in case.
