Pier cap fixing fir setting heavy port cap

Hi I need advice on setting a heavy port cap in place ie what do I fix it with ?

I normally drill it and insert some rebar or screw rod and epoxy resin to set it in position, then drill the pillar and bed it into place

Is there an alternative method ? and is there a trade name for the RESIN. If a rod is used does the cap still need to be bedded in mortar ?

the resin you can buy from screwfix, and yes bed it on sand and cement
